Etude House Collagen Moistfull Firming Eye Cream

I used to neglect my undereye area because I always thought that as long as I had concealer, I didn't have to worry about anything. Sadly, my eyebags got so bad that even concealer wasn't doing the job anymore. I realized I had to put some skincare in there lol. So the search for the perfect eye cream commenced. I didn't want to get an eye cream that was too harsh or not age appropriate because I so did not want to overdo it. I finally decided on Etude House Collagen Moistfull Firming Eye Cream because I read good reviews on it and when I tested it out it felt so soft on my skin ;p

I've been using this for over two months now and I can honestly say that puffiness in my undereye area has greatly diminished. My undereye are has also brightened but I am not sure if thats due to the puffiness going away. I also like that this moisturizes my undereye area so that when I do apply concealer it doesn't cake or crease.

This has a very thick consistency which surprisingly is absorbed well by my skin. I just pat on the product sparingly and wait for about 10 seconds and it's been absorbed completely. Really loving this product and I do think I will repurchase. (Although that will be quite some time in the future because you only need a teensy amount and the jar contains a lot of product so it'll last for a year I think)

My HG Eye Makeup Removers: Heroine Make Eye Makeup Remover and Heroine Make Mascara Remover

Since I have chinky eyes, I tend to use A LOT of eye makeup to make my eyes appear bigger. This includes really stubborn eyeliner and mascara that is such a pain to remove. I used to get by by using oil cleansers, but it just took too much time, product, effort, and pain to remove everything lol. It was extremely fortunate that I picked up the Heroine Make eye makeup remover and mascara remover last year in Hong Kong.

(Sorry for the bad pictures for the mascara remover, I had no time to set up my little studio haha)

I can't go on without these products I swear these just make removing makeup so easy. For the eye makeup remover, just pour a bit of product on a piece of cotton and hold it to your lids for around 5 seconds (around 10 seconds if you have mascara on), and the eye makeup just comes right off. no rubbing or tugging needed!

The mascara remover isn't actually a necessary step but I find that it just adds that extra cleanse to my lashes. It's a mascara wand with a clear, jelly liquid that you apply on your lashes like a normal mascara. Then let it set for a few minutes, then use a tissue to remove the mascara.

Definitely going to stock up on these when I next go to Hong Kong!

My HG Eyeshadow Primer: Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer

I have terribly oily eyes, so not even the Shiseido cream eyeshadows last on me. If I don't use primer, ANYTHING will crease and transfer on my under-eyes in under an hour. Seriously. So primer is an essential step for me. Having  chinky and foldless eyes is an added challenge because not just any primer will do. It has to be heavy duty lol. I have tried so many eye primers (NYX HD Eye Primer, UDPP, MAC Paint Pot, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, etc.) but all of these left me disappointed because there would always be creasing and transferring. Thankfully I spotted the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer over two years ago and it's been my HG primer ever since. My eye makeup stays put for more than 12 hours with absolutely no flaking or creasing. I'm already on my third bottle of this but it is so worth it, and I don't think I will find anything better or as affordable really.

This is Php 298 at Etude House (It says Watson's on the price tag because I bought it at an Etude counter inside an SM Department Store)

The bottle is tiny, but it lasts for  loooong time since you only need a teeny bit of product for each eyelid. The wand tip is good for application but its difficult to get the remaining product at the bottom out.

It's a flesh-toned creamy liquid that dries down quite fast so you better blend it quickly. Do check this out if you have oily lids, it is truly a godsend!

Holika Holika Magic Pole Mascara

I asked my mom to get this mascara for me while she was in Korea since I read good reviews about it. Now personally I always go with Japanese mascaras because they are just the best, so I have never really taken the chance to try a Korean one. This was my first time to try a Korean mascara so I wasn't exactly expecting to be wowed or anything. (I got the lengthening one which is 02 I think? NOT sure I have to check the box :))

I like the round tip applicator because this makes it so much easier to apply to my lower lashes and also to and a second layer on my upper lashes to further lengthen them. There is a tendency to clump though after the third coating so do be careful and apply sparingly. I find the straight part of the applicator to be utterly useless because it gathers too much product so when i use this part there is too much clumpy mascara on my lashes. This mascara stays on quite well for about 6 hours, after that some flaking occurs which is annoying because that means instant Panda eyes -_-

To summarize,

- Round tip makes it easy to apply on lower lashes and to further lengthen upper lashes
- Round tip is also good for hard to reach corner lashes
- Lengthens lashes noticeably
- Doesn't clump with three coats
- No icky smell
- Good staying power

- Straight tip applicator is useless and gives instant clumps
- Clumps after three coats
- Flaking after about 6 hours

Overall I think I like my Japanese mascaras way better, although I just may repurchase this for the round tip applicator to use on those hard to reach lashes.

Not Getting MAC Riri Woo

Sorry for the long absence my life has been hectic!! Anyway, when I first heard about the Riri Hearts MAC collection, I was determined to get Riri Woo because I am a lipstick hoarder like that :p But seeing swatches online, I decided to not get it anymore because it's really almost identical to Ruby Woo. Kinda disappointing because I thought Riri Woo would be darker and deeper than Ruby Woo.
